2005 Ford Fiesta Track Build
Ford Fiesta 1.4L 2005
My first project car. Turning a normal A-to-B car into a track weapon
The Car
A 2005 Ford Fiesta. The 1.4L inline 4 Duratec 16V Sigma engine isn’t something that screams “performance” out of the box - but to me it is the basis of this project. It may not be quick, but it should be reliable and dependable when driving on a track day (or popping to the shops). The car is a great base for a first project as it is cheap (I managed to pick mine up for £150 with 130k miles) and the parts to keep it going are easy to come by. The drawback of this project is that there aren’t that many performance parts, they are mostly focused on the Fiesta ST150 which is the performance variant of this car. That isn’t going to stop me though!
Goals
- Get it on some better wheels - ST150 wheels
- Induction - Custom induction kit
- Brakes - Uprated pads and discs, custom brake cooling ducts
- Handling - Coilovers, poly bushing, anti-roll bars
- Track Readiness - Roll cage, harnesses, bucket seats, weight reduction
- Partner Approval - Colour choices and design chosen by my partner
Current Status
The car has had the new wheels fitted and the induction kit made and fitted. Along with this, it has had a full service.
